Hey everyone we are finishing up week 2 Biographies I’m reading Wishing on the Moon the Life and Times of Billie Holiday. Excellent book so far i didn’t know her birth name was Eleanora Fagan. The book is very descriptive and provides in depth historical insight beyond music.
This book was awesome! I learned that women made up a large part of the Panthers which I didn't really know before. I heard the stories of how the party was taken down but to read about the dismantling from him gave me a different perspective. I'm happy inread this!
Nia is a dancer who was one of the main cast members on the show ‘Dance Moms’. For most of the show, she was the only Black dancer on the team and she talks about her experiences in the book; experiencing a lot of racism from her teacher and some from her teammates and their moms.
